AutoQuote3D vs Printforge

Printforge is more of a shop-admin tool: costing, scheduling, inventory, accounting. AutoQuote3D starts on the customer side: upload, price, checkout. Plenty of shops need both. They usually do not need both from the same product.

Fix the part that is actually slow

If people wait on you to open a file and email a number, start there. Can a new visitor pick a material, upload a model, and move on without a phone call? That is the path AutoQuote3D is built around.

If jobs already come in fine, but the team loses time assigning work or chasing stock, look at that instead. Ask each vendor to show you that workflow. A long feature list is not a demo.

What a job costs and what you charge are different numbers

A detailed cost calculator can tell you what a job should cost. The customer still needs a price they can buy. Try setup fees, quantity changes, material options, and the margin you actually want. Then see what carries through when they pay.

You set print prices in AutoQuote3D and keep the quote, order, and customer together. If you need inventory or accounting, plan the handoff to the system you already use. An API is a way to build that, not a native Xero or Shopify app.

What AutoQuote3D costs

You can set up a shop and try a quote without paying. Taking customer payments needs a plan or the 14-day trial. We do not take a cut of orders. Stripe still charges their processing fee.

The 14-day trial starts when you check out for a subscription, which needs a payment method. Cancel before it ends if you do not want to be charged. See the full plans, limits, and annual billing.

Before you switch

  1. Run a real job and compare your cost breakdown with the price the customer sees.
  2. Test the website purchase flow on its own, then look at scheduling and stock separately.
  3. Check that the accounting or storefront connection you need is on the plan you would buy.

Don't take your public quote link down while you test. Price a real job and finish an order first. For AutoQuote3D setup, see our tutorials or talk to us about your shop.

Common questions

Is AutoQuote3D just a quoting widget?

The widget is how customers start. You also get a dashboard for quotes, orders, customers, and analytics, plus Stripe checkout and AI assistant connections.

Can AutoQuote3D replace inventory or accounting software?

No. Use it for quoting and orders. Keep inventory and accounting where they already work, and check how the two would talk before you rip anything out.

Does Printforge have an API, MCP, or AI?

They have an AI quote assistant and webhooks. We did not find a public REST API or an MCP server. AutoQuote3D publishes OpenAPI and an MCP connection for Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor.
