Quote3D is not [Quot3D](https://www.autoquote3d.com/compare/quot3d). Quote3D (quote3d.com) is a REST API and embeddable widget, not the AutoQuote3D Widget, checkout, and order dashboard.

## When to pick which

### Choose AutoQuote3D when…

You want customers to upload a model, pay, and leave an Order in your dashboard, without building that flow on a quote API.

### Consider Quote3D when…

You are building your own tool and want a quote API, a widget, and printer profiles you configure yourself.

## Side by side

What they list below is from their own site. Open the source if you need current details or which plan includes it.

### What it is

- **AutoQuote3D:** Embeddable quote Widget, Stripe checkout, and a dashboard for Quotes, Orders, and customers.

- **Quote3D:** REST API and embeddable widget for quotes and printability. [Source](https://quote3d.com/en/docs/introduction/overview)

### Files and processes

- **AutoQuote3D:** STL, OBJ, STEP, and 3MF. FDM/FFF, SLA, SLS, MJF, and DMLS.

### How a price is made

- **AutoQuote3D:** For FDM, the server slices with PrusaSlicer using a profile we ship, plus your infill, units, bed size, print height, and Part orientation. You set the rates.

- **Quote3D:** Profiles you configure. Docs describe material, machine time, energy, and fees. [Source](https://quote3d.com/en/docs/introduction/overview)

### Published price

- **AutoQuote3D:** Starter $25/month, Professional $50, Service Bureaus $175. No cut of orders.

## Same aisle, different product

The names sit one word apart. Quote3D sells a way to calculate a price and return it through an API or a widget. AutoQuote3D is the Business's quoting and order tool: materials, the Widget, payment, and the Order record. A developer can build a storefront on their API. A print service can take Quotes on our Widget without that project.

Quote3D's docs print the label API v2 and Cloud Slicer. Cloud Slicer's site uses the same line, "Perfect for 3D printing services and small print farms," and publishes its own API plans, including a $0 plan and a $10 a month Pro plan. Cloud Slicer's homepage did not mention Quote3D, so the table stays with Quote3D as quote3d.com describes it. Check both names before you compare a price.

## A quote API is not the Order

Calling an API gives you a number. The customer still needs a place to upload, a way to pay, and a record your team can fulfill. AutoQuote3D keeps that path in one product: the Widget, Stripe checkout, and the dashboard. A connected Shopify store can take payment on that store's checkout instead, as a draft order and a Shopify checkout link.

Quote3D documents the API, the widget, printer profiles, and quote history. The homepage accepts STL, 3MF, and OBJ files up to 50 MB. We did not review a hands-on Order desk on their site. If you need the API inside software you already run, try theirs with your profiles. If you need the customer to finish an Order, run the same file through our Widget and see what lands after they pay.

## What AutoQuote3D costs

You can set up a shop and try a quote without paying. Taking customer payments needs a plan or the 14-day trial. We do not take a cut of orders. Stripe still charges their processing fee.

- **Starter: USD $25/month.** For one-person shops quoting up to 50 jobs a month.

- **Professional: USD $50/month.** For growing shops that need unlimited quotes and their own branding.

- **Service Bureaus: USD $175/month.** For teams managing two businesses, add-ons, and faster support.

The 14-day trial starts when you check out for a subscription, which needs a payment method. Cancel before it ends if you do not want to be charged. [Full plans, limits, and annual billing](https://www.autoquote3d.com/pricing).

## Before you switch

1. Quote the same file in both, with your real materials, and write down the price and what the customer does next.
2. If you are embedding a quote API in a product you are building, try Quote3D's API and widget. If you want checkout and Orders without that build, try AutoQuote3D.
3. Read the "API v2 & Cloud Slicer" label on their docs, and Cloud Slicer's own plans, before you treat those names as one price.

Don't take your public quote link down while you test. Price a real job and finish an order first. See our [tutorials](https://www.autoquote3d.com/tutorials) or [contact us](https://www.autoquote3d.com/contact).

## Common questions

### Is AutoQuote3D the same product as Quote3D?

No. Quote3D (quote3d.com) is a 3D printing quote API and widget, also labeled API v2 and Cloud Slicer on its docs. AutoQuote3D is quoting and order software: the Widget, checkout, and a dashboard for Quotes and Orders.

### Does Quote3D have an API or AI?

Yes. They publish a REST API at api.quote3d.com/v2, and the homepage describes an AI agent on the quote tool. We did not find an MCP server or a Claude connector on the pages we reviewed. AutoQuote3D has a public API, an MCP server, an official Claude connector, and an official ChatGPT plugin.
